Regulations

a. Show respect to others

  • Users must behave in a civil manner towards library staff and other users. Behaviour that threatens, harasses or demeans others is not tolerated in the library.

b. Contribute to a quiet atmosphere

  • Library is a particularly designed place for reading and self-study. Quietness & proper behaviour are to be observed in the library at all times.
  • Users should enter the library quietly and make their requests for the use of resources politely.
  • Users should keep silent when self-studying, having DEAR periods or carrying out other learning activities.
  • Besides reading and studying, other behaviour (e.g. small group discussion activities, meeting, chatting, fooling around, sleeping etc.) that disturbs the concentration of other users is strictly forbidden inside the library.

c. Security

  • Users should keep their valuable personal belongings with themselves at all times.
  • School bag should be placed on the shelf outside the library.
  • Removal of any materials without proper borrowing procedure will be counted as a discipline violation.

d. Help preserve the resources

  • Library material, furniture and equipment must not be marked, changed or damaged in any way. Users should report damaged materials to library staff immediately.
  • Users should ensure that any loss of library materials is reported immediately. They will be liable for their cost so that replacements can be made.
  • Loss of a library card must be reported immediately to the office.

e. Keep environment clean and tidy

  • Users should keep the place tidy and return all the used resources to their original places.
  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the library.
