book title: the hobbit and there and back again
    author: J.R.R. TOLKIEN

    book report:
There was a hobbit, called Bilbo Baggins. One day, he met 13 dwarves coming into his home one after another. Then they started making their mess in Bilbo ‘s house. After that, the next day came, Bilbo woke up and he was then forced to his journey with the 13 dwarves and a wizard named Gandalf. Therefore his journey started.
In his journey, their target was to get back Thorin’s (the leaders’s name of the dwarve) heritage from the dragon, Smaug. In their journey, they met lots and lots of miserable things, like metting the spiders in the forest, being tied up with their webs, Bilbo getting a magic ring that could make him invisible to help them through quite a number of dangers. Some of the dwarves were caught and put in jail, but they were finally safe by helping each other. Lastly they fought the dragon and won back Thorin’s heirtage from his father. But they were troubled by how to divide up the money and treasures among all of them, so they argued for some time, but finally everything was solved , and Bilbo went back to his hobbit hole, and the story ends here.

  2. Title of Book : Esio Trot
    Author: Roald Dahl
Plots: The story is about a bachelor named Mr. Hoppy, who is desperately in love with Ms. Silver, the woman living in the flat just under his own. But Ms. Silver cares for her pet tortoise and nobody else, or so it seems to poor Mr. Hoppy. And as he is of a shy nature, the most he ever manages to say to Ms. Silver is good-morning as he waters his plants above her. And then one day Mr. Hoppy finds out that Ms. Silver would like nothing more than that her tortoise, Alfie, should grow bigger. This is the beginning of Mr. Hoppy's great plan, interesting chiefly because of the hilarious way he goes about executing it….

opinion: This is a funny book. The book contains a single story, without chapters, and I would be well advised to start it when I have a bit of time on hand, as I won't want to put it down till the end.

  3. Title: The Kite Runner
    Author: Khaled Hosseini

Amir, a boy from Kabul, betrayed his friend Hassan, son of Baba (Amir’s father)’s servant Ali. He lived in regret ever since, and when he was a fully-grown adult, he was reintroduced to what Hassan’s life had been like fifteen years after his marriage with Soraya, the general’s daughter.

After reading this book, I understood that hurting others will only bring regret. I am quite sure that Amir was not aware of this when he repeatedly betrayed Hassan, running away when Hassan stood up for him in front of Assef, the bully, and teasing him about how he could not read or understand long words.

Also, I learnt that by hurting others, one day you will receive what you deserve as well. A typical example is how Assef, being called ‘One-eyed Assef’ by Hassan, lost one of his eyes in the fight with Amir because of Sohrab, Hassan’s son.

    Title:Sleep-over
    Author:Jacqueline Wilson

The members of the Alphabet Club: Amy, Bella, Chloe and Emily (in alphabet order), are all having sleepovers for their birthdays. Daisy loves sleepovers but she’d have to let her friends meet her sister, who has some brain diseases. She cannot take care of herself and even speak clearly. How should Daisy face the problem? What problem will her friends face? At last, all the friends of Daisy accept her sister and Daisy found that Lily is her best sister, forever.

    Opinion:
The writer writes about the feeling and friendship of girls full of reality and in a humourous way. I always find myself when reading this book. The book is meaningful. I have learned that a true friend or a true sister will not discriminate against friends because of anything. We should treat friends with our true feeling as there is no need to lie.

    Title: Ballet
    Author: A. Thomas
This book talks about ballet. It is packed with detail about when and how to start ballet training, how to write the steps down, create ballets and tell us how to project yourself to an audience and convey different moods and emotions.
I love this book very much because I like watching ballet shows and dancing is interesting. I think the music can help me to relax. Ballet is a way of telling a story using music and dance instead of words. Dancers wear special character costumes and have different make-up that can help to create the mood of a ballet. The patterns of movement are very beautiful and classical ballet is so romantic. So, classical ballet is found all around the world, for instance, in Europe, the USA, China, Japan and South America. This book has some simple steps and exercises to try, clearly explained with colourful step-by-step pictures. Therefore, we can learn ballet easily and do it for fun.

The author will discuss life with kindness, eloquence, and wisdom. She will tell you how to build up positive self-esteem, overcome challenges and most importantly, how to love yourself.

    Tittle: The Twits
    Author: Roald Dahl

    Summary:

This story is about two characters called The Twits. They always play tricks on the others, and the tricks were really funny. The Twits did not wash themselves for many years, and they loved eating“bird-pie”.

    Reflection:
This book is very remarkable because the author described the characters vividly, so that the readers were attracted. Roald Dahl created the characters who had special hobbies and they were amusing.

After reading this book, I have learnt how to create attractive characters, and this book makes me know more about
story-telling. So now I know more about how to write an interesting story. I have learnt more about sentence structure,
the grammar and I know how to use words properly too.

I want to read more books about fairy tales which can help me learn more about writing. I can also get more creative ideas when I am having my writing exams .

Title: The Phantom Of The Subway
    Author: Geronimo Stilton

Content: Geronimo Stilton, the protagonist of this story, had received an urgent call of a big news. There was a ghost haunting New Mouse City’s subway tunnels. After that, they started to check whether the event was real or not. They wanted to know more so she called all of her big-shot friends to play golf with Geronimo Stilton. Then, they started to check it. They called some people, namely Trap Stilton, Pinky Pick and other people to join it. Lastly, he received a
letter from his pen friend. In the letter, he explained why the events occurred in the city these days.

    Comments:
I think this story is quite good. Firstly, the title of this story is quite attractive. It matches with the picture, and attracts me to read it.
Secondly, there are some special facts and pictures, which can make people know it more easily. Thirdly, at the beginning of the story,
it uses some strange sounds of the cat and a lot of reports about cat that someone saw or heard something about in the Mouse City to make us be more interested in it. Fourth, is the last one also, I think the ending of this story is very special. It sounds like a special event.

    Reflection:
This book can be described as adventurous. In face the plot of the book is not really special, but the great organization and bunch of emotional adjectives brought me into the story! Like without saying’Good idea!’, refer to the book, we can also say’he nodded his head in agreement’. Wow! There are many other great sentences all around the book, through all the pages, there’s something make you amazed.
I highly recommend you to read this fabulous adventurous book. You can borrow it from the school. The code of the book is B1416. Keep reading!

Title: There’s a boy in the girl’s bathroom
    Author: Louis Sachar

Bradley Chalkers is the oldest kid in the fifth grade. He tells enormous lies. He picks fight with girls, and the teachers say he has ‘serious behavior problems’. No one likes him, except Carla, the new school counselor. She thinks Bradley is sensitive anf generous, and she even enjoys his farfetched stories. Carla knows that Bradley can change, if only he weren’t afraid to try.
Bradley has no friend. I think one of the reasons he has serious behavior problems because he is lonely. He wants to do something special to attract people’s attention. After finished this book, I learn that we should pay more attention to people around us, like our family, classmates and friends. Otherwise, it is too late to care them when they have ‘serious behavior problem’. We would be regret at that time.

    Title: All Our Worldly Goods
    Author: Irène Némirovsky

I feel really excited to introduce this book to all of you. Let’s me introduce the author of this book first. Irène Némirovsky was a Jewish who was born in 1903. She was once a bestselling novelist, author of Suite Française. She was killed by the Nazis in German concentration camp Auschwitz during the Second World War. Luckily, this work is completed. This book is about the stories of families whose lives intertwine. In fact, many people think that History is boring but this book provides a panoramic view of life in France from 1911 to 1940, so that we can learn History by reading the story and that’s why I like this book so much. All Our Worldly Goods is about love: forbidden love, married love, unrequited love, the love of parents for their children, of people for their homes, of citizens for their country. The story talks about Pierre and Agnès who are in love, but Pierre is engaged to someone else approved by his mother and the industrialist and tyrammical family. The story describes the family from the beginning of the First World War, to the Great Depression and through the end of the Second World War. With the fantastic writing skill, Némirovsky offers readers into another world, one long time ago, but the emotions of the people – desires, fears, suffering, happiness, still remain unchanged. I don’t want to tell lies, but this book is really worth reading.

    Title:Escape From Camp Run-For-Your-Life
    Author:R.L.Stine
If you like to join the sports camp, read BEWARE! This book may help you escape from this incredible danger. This book has twenty different scary endings. Every choice you make in this book will affect your life in the future.
You have joined a sports camp called Running Leaf. When you enter the camp, a man called Coach Rex will direct you to find the Zombie Cave. Be careful of the word ‘Zombie’ because there may be some walking dead around you. If you make any wrong decision, you will become the food of these zombies.
When I read this book, my final ending was being torn limb by limb by the zombie because of a needle that I think will help me. In these twenty endings only two of them are escaping from the camp. The other of them were very frightening, for example, being the food of the zombies, being the slave of zombies or becoming one of the zombies.

Title:Escape From The Carnival of Horrors
    Author:R.L.Stine
Here is another book From R.L.Stine.This book also has twenty different endings.
This time we have gone to a theme park called ‘The Carnival of Horrors’. Before entering this park, I felt very scared by just looking at the name of this book. In this weird park, you can see the normal things that you will see in the other theme parks, for example, the roller coaster, the animals , the astronauts etc. But in this park you will also see the monsters, the mummy, the dummy etc. It is strongly recommended that you had better read as many books of ‘ Give Yourself Goosebumps’ series as you can because when reading this book, you need to remember something very important in this series of books and use such information in some parts of this book.
When I read this book, the ending I have met is a circular ending that I have to re-enter this park and get rid of the dangers again and again.
